The STEM Football curriculum is designed to pair strategic STEM-based activities with professional football history and current hot topics. STEM Football gives students the opportunity to get behind the sport they love with lessons centered around the scientific differences between football materials, in-game communication, understanding the importance of football helmet’s at the cellular level, the innovation and technology of gloves that receivers and defensive backs wear and much, much more. Each educational football activity the students engage in has a direct lesson in the curriculum to take their curiosity and understanding deeper and more cognitive.
STEM Football is an educational enrichment program that combines STEM education and the real-life application of football. It is made up of eight (8) modules, several with worksheets, all which align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and/or Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and/or National Standards for K-12 Physical Education. Each STEM Football kit includes a STEM Football Curriculum Manual -- that is easily administered -- and reusable sports equipment and science supplies in order for the program to be fully implemented and turnkey. 5E sequenced lessons are specifically composed and differentiated for grades 3rd, 4th and 5th and another set for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The program is well designed and scalable for teachers, administrators and even volunteers for school classrooms, after-school programs and in camp settings.
A STEM Football kit will reach hundreds of students over a handful of years and will serve as a true educational football resource. A STEM Football kit comes with all the sports equipment and science supplies to go along with each lesson, including: six (6) youth size footballs, six (6) foam footballs, six (6) pairs of Cutters gloves, six (6) digital stopwatches, six (6) 25' tape measures, one pair of (2) walkie-talkies, one (1) weight scale, one (1) box of 1000 craft sticks, five-hundred (500) rubber bands, one (1) ball bag, one (1) ball pump, and one (1) set of inflation needles.
