The STEM Soccer curriculum is designed to pair strategic STEM-based activities with soccer and the techniques behind the sport. STEM Soccer gives students the opportunity to get behind the sport they love with lessons around the science of properly inflated balls, burning calories while playing, using the Engineering Design Process (EDP), using math to predict the probability of penalty kicks and much more. Each educational soccer activity the students engage in has a direct lesson in the curriculum to take their curiosity and understanding to a deeper level.
STEM Soccer is an educational enrichment program that combines STEM education and the real-life application of soccer. It is made up of eight (8) modules, several with worksheets, all which align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and/or Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and/or National Standards for K-12 Physical Education. Each STEM Soccer no-sports equipment kit includes a STEM Soccer Curriculum Manual -- that is easily administered -- and reusable science supplies in order for the program to be fully implemented and turnkey. 5E sequenced lessons are specifically composed and differentiated for grades 3rd, 4th and 5th and another set for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The program is well designed and scalable for teachers, administrators and even volunteers for school classrooms, after-school programs and in camp settings.
A STEM Soccer kit can reach hundreds of students over several years. Each STEM Soccer no-sports equipment kit comes with one (1) STEM Soccer Curriculum Manual, six (6) 25-foot tape measures, five (5) heart rate monitors, six (6) digital stopwatches, five (5) training pinnies, two (2) bells, four (4) tent pegs, one (1) roll of string, one (1) roll of masking tape and one (1) pressure gauge. Items removed and thus needed: Six (6) size five soccer balls, six (6) regulation size futsal balls, two (2) ball bags, one (1) ball pump and one (1) set of inflation needles.
